Can anyone tell me if the new 2210 model JD can be fitted with the R4 industrial tires? I know they offer the choice of the turf and ag tires but the two dealers I talked to where unsure of the R4's. I think the R4's are the right compromise for mowing and loader work. Trying to decide between the purchase of the 2210 and the 4010. Thanks for any help.

The 2210 I saw the other day had BX style "bar turfs" on it.

It is a little tractor version of a R4 tire. It is a broad flat tire with skinnier cleats than an R4.

At least on my BX the bar turfs are a heavier stiffer tire.

I was having problems doing loader work with the turfs because of the thinner bouncy sidewalls and tread. It was like riding a rocking horse.

I have not seen a true R4 tire to fit 10 inch front rims like the 2210 comes with. ....

Thanks for the info. Was the 2210 you saw at a dealer? The bar turfs like Kubota will put on the BX would be the tire of choice for me. Wonder how hard it is for the dealer to meet that need? ....

I tried to get the HDAP tires on my 2210 like you might see on the X-500 series and the dealer & Deere (I made the phone call) said only turf and ag. type bar tires are available at this time. Deere went on to say, they are in the process of investigating different tires (how the front tires will match-up with the rear) and not damage the tranny. ....

My local dealer tells me R4's are not available on the 2210 (but then again, he couldn't find the key for me to give it a test drive).
I too am looking into the choice between the 2210 and the 4000 series. I used a friends 4110 w/ 410 loader and R4's and could easily see why any less tread would (on my property anyway) be a problem for loader work. It was a great machine.
For me, this is really a tough choice since the 2210 was introduced. The 4110 was on my wish list vs. the X, based purely on the type (heavily wooded) and size of my lot. I have been trying to think this decision through the long term use/needs, but if there is, or is going to be a 2210 with R4's, now I'm back to studying.
Good luck with your decision. ....

Yes I saw the 2210 at a dealer in Northern california.
The Bar turfs are not true ag tires and do not act like them. They are much closer in design and function to an R4. ....
